I have multiple ‘dirty’ entries in my Akonadi DB, as seen using Akonadiconsole.

What does it mean for an entry to be ‘dirty’.
What can and should I do about it?

You can try adjusting these with "akonadictl fsck" from the command line.

I know about `akonadictl fsck`, but I do not know what it does, and I do want to be sure I don't lose data.

fsck is mostly harmless, it won't damage your data. Other options may affect it, but not this one.

Ok, I tried it. It doesn't do anything, apparently to the dirty entries I have.

Dirty entry is an entry which has been modified locally and has to be updated in the remote storage (like IMAP server of Google Calendar). If you have dirty items locally and all resources are online, then it means that the resource probably failed to store the change on the server. Currently we unfortunately don't have any mechanism to make Akonadi to try to sync the dirty items again. There's a fix for that in the pipeline, but no promise on when that will be implemented.
