KMail search gives strange results

Tue Jul 05, 2016 6:29 pm
Hello everyone!

Following problems apprear:

*It seems I have to delete the "Last Search" folder to get a new search results.
*Some searches give no results, even when there should be a result in a folder (archive).
*New searches, if not deleting the "Last Search", displays the number of hit at the left bottom, but does not display the list of the results in the box.

Anyone has similar problems?

Thanks for the help in advance!

What version of KDE PIM are you using? For your first question, deleting "Last Search" is correct, as these folders are supposed to be "live" searches, that is, they keep on updating when new messages with the right criteria arrive.

Thank you for your answer.

The problem is mine is that the last search is neither replaced nor is another search created.

I use KDEPIM / Kmailon KaOS Linux dsitro with the latest updates. KDE PIM is version 16.04.2-1. My hardware is an ancient HP6735b. :)

So, if I understood correctly:

1. You do a search
2. Live search folder contains the results
3. You do another
4. Live search folder does NOT update to match your new criteria

Is this assessment correct?

Yes, your description is correct. I have to delete the Last Search (or whatever name I gave for the search) to get a new search result or save it under a different name.

Can you file a bug on bugs.kde.org? I think this is a real issue rather than some problem on your side.
