I'm a newbie to KDE PIM. I'm running Kubuntu 16.04 LTS. I think I have everything configured correctly in KMail. No errors and all accounts are active/ready. I observe the following oddities: there are no folders for my 2 IMAP accounts in the folder area. There is a Local folder. Mail will not download no matter what i do.
Not much to go on, I realize. Any help appreciated. John |

Found a post that might be relevant but have no idea (newbie) how to do most of what it suggests. 109833: KMail doesn't display folders created to IMAP account: 1/31/13.

I think you must be more detailed in your explanation of the problem: no eror messages? Sure that the accounts configuration is ok? Did you configure them "by hand" or using the account wizard? There are many things that might be causing the problem, the more details you can provide, the better if you want to get useful help. Attaching some screenshot could help too.
BTW, that relevant post you talk about, you should paste a link so we are able to read what it says. |

Following up on request for further information.
Accounts set up by the script. Verified that the Google account (looked on-line) correct. My ISP says PDE account is ok. No error messages. Did you allow "Insecure" access on your Google account? Otherwise logging in will not work.

So both your IMAP accounts appear as offline... I supose you have tried the obvious: making sure the passwords are correct, so have you tried another obvious thing: In Kmail, File-> Work online?
If that doesn't work, I don't know what does that script you mention, sorry, so, could you try using the wizard? Tools-> Account wizard, or something like that, my Kmail isn't in english. Could be that the ports or the authentication method that script you sey sets aren't correct. Edit: I dont have a Google account, but these should be the correct ports for Gmail: https://support.google.com/mail/trouble ... 8960?hl=en Using the account wizard ahould set them correctly. I don't know about the other account ones. Don't miss einar's advice or Gmail won't let Kmail connect to your account. Don't know if the other server could have a two step verification too. |

The problem was not having the less secure login turned on in Google. Once I turned that on everything worked fine.
Thanks for everyone's help. John |
