Hello,
Akonadi is auto-started on my Fedora 24 box. The only thing I think would have started is either Calendar plugin or the Kmail. I have disabled calendar in clock widget and am I not starting KMail. So akonadi should be off on system start. How can I figure out what might be starting Akonadi? Regards, Sudhir. |

It's probably the KOrganizer reminder module (korgac), that's autostarted at login by default.
It's normally running in the system tray (probably hidden though, so click on the up-arrow to show the hidden system tray icons if you can't see it), right-click on its icon and disable "Start at login" (or similar). |

I don't see any KOrganizer reminder module. Why is it started automatically at start? |

To remind you about events in your calendars. If you don't see it, it is probably not running though. But check the process list, the process would be called "korgac". No idea what else starts Akonadi on your system. Akonadi is only started if an application tries to use it. Are you autostarting some other KDEPIM application? (like korganizer, kjots, knotes, kaddressbook) |

I don't think so. I am not starting any PIM app consciously. If my system is, that's what I want to find out.
