Both in the message preview pane and in the full message pane, my messages appear with a lot of white space above and to the right, with the scroll bar (which is at the right hand side of the message) about 2/3 of the way across the preview pane. This looks very odd - how can I fix it? (I tried to upload a screenshot but failed).
My version is: 5.3.0 (QtWebEngine), with KDE Frameworks 5.26.0, Qt 5.7.0 (built against 5.7.0), The xcb windowing system, all running under ArchLinux. Thanks, -A. |

The forum isn't configured to upload screenshots: best is for you to make one, upload it to one image sharing service, and paste the link here. In this case it's quite important to understand your problem.

OK, here's a screenshot:
![]() This shows the issue, both in the preview pane, and when the message is opened in its own window. Is there a fix for this? Thanks, -A. |

What distribution are you using? You may want to back up ~/.local/share/kmail2 and remove it to see if it fixes the problem. You can also try to change the header theme from View>Headers (Try "Classic" or "Elegant").

I have the same issue on Kubuntu 17.04 using KDE PIM tools from backports ppa with KMail
Version 5.4.3 (Package Version - 4:16.12.3-0ubuntu1~ubuntu17.04~ppa4) Change the header has no impact on the white space, which should contain the message action buttons like forward, printing ... Even after removing the config files the issue is still present |

Unfortunately I can't reproduce this issue here: mails display just fine here. Are you up to date with all packages, in particular kdepim-addons?

Yes, every package is up to date. Is there any information I could provide to find and fix the issue?

I think that's a problem when using display scaling with non-integer factors.
Try to set back scaling to 1x (or 2x) in Systemsettings->Display and Monitor, that should "fix" it. |

Thanks a lot, this fixed the issue. Resetting the scaling factor to 1:1 the issue is solved. |
