I have got Kmail configured to check my e-mail from an IMAP Outlook office 365 server. E-mails are well retrieved and stored in my inbox folder. However, when I try to access independent e-mails from the message list Kmail just closes unexpectedly and reports the following crash message "Application: KMail (kmail), signal: Aborted". I am using KDE neon 5.8, Plasma version 5.8.3 and Qt 5.7.0.

No sure why this is happening. Thunderbird perfectly works when configured with the same e-mail account.

Is there any possible solution to this crash? How can I track more error information about the crash?

Thanks,
Luke

Can you install debug symbols and provide a backtrace here? Use a pastebin service and put the link here.

Hi Einar,

Thanks for your response. In another post was found a workaround to this problem:

viewtopic.php?f=309&t=137105

It seems there is some sort of incompatibility between KMail and the nouveau driver so I just simply uninstalled this driver and installed the official Nvidia ones and problems have gone.

Thanks,
Luke

Noveau will not work with anything that uses Qt's new "Web Engine" (basically an embedded Chromium) and will crash. Some distributions have patches to disable openGL with the web engine (the cause of the crashes), but not all of them.
