I've just managed to install Kmail 16.12.0 on my old Gentoo box, after more than two years waiting for the new Kmail.

But, somehow unsurprisingly, it won't work. A message saying "The akonadi personal management service is not operational" appears on Kmail's window. Nothing happens when I click the "Details..." button, but running "akonadiselftest" says that "No resource agents have been found" (the complete output can be found on this link). It seems weird that XDG paths are correct, so I don't get why Akonadi is not finding those resource agents (or is it looking for one in special, one that I don't have installed?).

More weird is that akonadi seems OK. When I run 'akonadictl status', I get this:

Code: Select all
akonadictl status
Akonadi Control: running
Akonadi Server: running
Akonadi Server Search Support: available (Remote Search)
Available Agent Types: akonadi_archivemail_agent, akonadi_followupreminder_agent, akonadi_indexing_agent, akonadi_mailfilter_agent, akonadi_sendlater_agent

I've tried deleting all akonadi stuff, restarting, invoking Bellcebu, but all that was no use. Any help would be very appreciated. :)

No need to call upon things from the Outer Planes. ;) The "agents" are needed by PIM to work, and are part of "kdepim-runtime". Can you confirm that you have that installed?

I didn't get what do you mean with that sentence (sorry, I'm still learning english) but thank you so much! kdepim-runtime wasn't installed. Seems a bug report against the kmail ebuild is needed as it didn't pulled kdepim-runtime when emerged.

Thank you so much! :)
