I have a local mail archive of type "KMail Mail Folder", which used to work well.
With the latest KMail 5.4.0 (16.12.0-1 on Arch Linux), a dialog box reports this resource as "broken" and I'm unable to display any mail contents in its subfolders. At the same time, 'akonadiserver' is crashing. I mostly used my IMAP folders (which still work) the last days, so I can't tell exactly when this issue arose. But I updated to KDE Applications 16.12 on December 15th, so I strongly suspect a correlation. This also happens to a fresh testuser with a virgin Plasma/KMail/Akonadi setup. It's also not related to the content of the mail folder as other users (with much less mails in the archive) are also affected. Any help is greatly appreciated. I also welcome pointers to alternative mail clients which are able to directly work with KMail Mail Folders. |

Can you issue "akonadictl restart" on a terminal, and paste the relevant output on a pastebin service?

This is just the startup code. Please post the full output to a site like pastebin.com.

What output do you have in mind exactly? A crashlog is here: akonadiserver-crash-dbg-20170104.log |

The crash report doesn't give many clues, unfortunately.

Sadly, akonadi is getting worse for me with every update - since 16.12.1-3 (together with qt 5.8.0-2?) I now even have problems and crashes accessing my IMAP resources.
Will migrate to Evolution now and check back in a couple of versions. |
