I'm running KMail 5.1.3 under Kubuntu 16.04 and running into a minor, but still annoying problem. I have notifications set up for new mail to play a sound and display the on-screen notification. This all works correctly for a while, but then at some point, usually within a day, the on-screen notifications for new mail stop working. The sound notification continues to work.

If I go into settings and toggle the setting off, then back on again, still no visual notifications. I just discovered that if I kill off akonadi_newmailnotifier_agent, another is automatically launched and it starts working again ... for a while, but then the same behaviour repeats.

Does anyone have any idea of what the problem may be, or where I l=could look for log messages as to why it stops working?
