KMail - whatever I got when I installed Kubuntu 3 days ago
Evolution 3.22.3

I am trying to use the Import wizard to move my email from Evolution to KMail. I wish that the documentation was better! The wizard seems to want the location of where my Evolution email is stored but nothing I give it seems to work. There's a lot of email! The Evolution folder is 3.3Gb with76000 files and 7100 sub-folders. It looks as though the import wizzrd wants to put all these emails in one folder - no way!!

Any help or pointers would be much appreciated.

mail/local/1376622057.24029.0@TheBeast (with same folder structure as mail/local/1336495200.3080.6)

Which of these is the folder used by Evolution? Apologies, I'm not too familiar with it.

All the folders under mail are part of the mail system. Other Evolution functions, eg calendar, tasks etc are in folders under evolution.

Can you close KMail and launch "importwizard" and see if it detects your existing configuration? (Note: this needs KMail from Applications 16.08 or higher).

What do you mean by "nothing happens"? Does Evolution get detected? Or it doesn't?

Evolution gets detected but nothing happens and there is nothing for me to enter, click etc. So wish I could provide a screen shot!

Can you run the application from terminal to see if any errors are printed there?

In the end I moved all my local Evolution mail folders up onto an IMAP server and then connected to that from KMail. Nothing I tried to do in KMail to import my email from Evolution worked.
