Hello everyone,

IMAP profiles in KMail stopped working presumably after a new update on tuesday (relevant updates that installed: akonadi (16.12.1-2 -> 16.12.1-3) , kdepim-runtime (16.12.1-1 -> 16.12.1-2)). The issue is that IMAP profiles cannot go online, in KMail settings, under Identity it says "Server is not available". The IMAP "server" is a davmail gateway on a remote server, but if I try to access the same account from Thunderbird I have no issues.

When I try to "Auto Detect" the "Connection Settings" in the IMAP Account Setting windows on Advanced tab, I get: "Unable to connect to the server, please verify the server address."

Any idea what to look for next?

Are you connecting via an encrypted connection, or in plain text? If the server allows for an unencrypted connection, can you test whether this work? I hits this issue a few days ago and it had do due (for my case).

Hey einar,

Sadly that doesn't help either. After some further investigation I found that KMail2/akonadi tries to connect to the IMAP server through our proxy server. However the IMAP server is on the internal network and it fails. I'm using Arch Linux and libproxy was updated on 01.31., right before KMail2 IMAP stopped working.
Changing proxy configuration in Plasma Proxy settings under Network settings doesn't matter, it still tries to connect trough the proxy server even when I set it to no proxy.
Any idea what to change in KMAil2/akonadi to either not use any proxy settings or pay attention to my env variables?

Can you remove the Qt version of libproxy?

Hey,

I only have one libproxy package, but reinstalling that or qt5-base (which depends on libproxy) does not solve the problem.

Has your distribution supplied the latest updates? Are you still experiencing this problem?

I've tried again today and it's still the same with up to date packages.
