Is it possible to insert off keyboard characters into a Kmail message please? In Writer it is easy - I go Insert and special character and select which I want but there seems to be no similar facility in Kmail. I was recently wishful of inserting a degree mark (as in temperatures) but could not work how to do that.

At least in my development version (which will be in Applications 17.04), there is the option "Edit > Insert special character" like you suggest. What version of KMail are you using?

Thank you - mine is version 4.8.5 - perhaps I should upgrade to a newer version?
My apologies for a slow response - I have been having difficulties with this new login system. ![]() |

What distribution are you using? Just to make sure an upgrade is possible.

You will likely have that option when you upgrade.
