KDE Plasma: v5.8.5
KDE Frameworks: v5.28.0
Qt: v5.6.1
Kernel: 4.8.0-42-generic
OS Type: 64-bit
KMail: 5.2.3

All my email is on an IMAP email server. I also have some local folders, but nothing in them. I want to automatically copy the online folders to the offline store. Everything I have tried fails. How do I do this please?

Do you want an additional copy of the mail, or keeping the IMAP mail also synced offline?

Ideally, I would like a local (additional) copy where any changes I make locally (delete, move, rename etc) will be reflected in the mail store on the server. Is this possible?

This is possible selecting "Download all messages for offline use" in the IMAP server configuration. It doesn't make a "true" copy, but you can keep your messages offline (and read them even without connectivity) and any changes you will do will be synced back to the IMAP server at the next mail check.
