Storage of GPG keys in Kleopatra

Sun Mar 19, 2017 8:34 pm
Greetings!

Is that possible to change the location of the GPG keys used in Kleopatra? For example to store them on an encrypted volume. I cannot see any option in the software.

Thank you!

Hi,

The storage location of the secret / public keys is defined by GnuPG and not by Kleopatra. (default ~/.gnupg)

To change the path under GNU/Linux systems the best way is to set an Environment variable GNUPGHOME that points to a different directory and launch Kleopatra in that environment.

For Windows you can also either set the Environment variable or change the Registry setting HKCU\Software\GNU\GnuPG:HomeDir

A web search for "change GNUPGHOME" can probably provide you with more info.

Regards,
Andre
