Hello!
I am wondering if the maintainers of kjots are interested in working
towards a common architecture with Basket Note Pads and Semantik.

In my opinion a collaboration could be a milestone for all three projects.

- Do you think it is possible to use akonadi as a optional data-backend for
basket and semantik?
- And on the otherhand could basket and semantik be useable for kontact/kde-pim
as data-model viewers?
- Do you know what the plans are about akonadi & semantic desktop?

I know nepomuk was discontinued, but probably its time was not yet?

In my opinion kjots could be the first main usecase-scenario of
akonadi/nepomuk, but it never occurred to happen yet...

Thanks for your thoughts and infos!

Greets
dom

Although kjots has been released outside KDE PIM, it is de facto in maintenance mode (will not get new updates). That said, in principle what you have said is doable, but will likely need some thought on how to handle the information on the Akonadi side.

Unfortunately the semantic desktop is dead, replaced by simpler file and email based indexers.

@einar
Regarding "...the semantic desktop is dead..." I would like to refer to your
signature quote: "Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent."
The semantic desktop is not even born.

And why shouldn't akonadi, baloo and nepomuk optionally coexist?
I think the kde community should reconsider the decision to tell the
semantic desktop dead before most users switch to kf5.
Semantic data mining shouldn't be a cloud service only (SaaSS)!
