I have enabled Auto Spell Check in both programs as well as tried to use manual spell check function. It never identifies miss spelled words (when using auto or manual spell check).

I am using Fedora Scientific, if that matters. I am unsure what else to include with this topic.

Spell checking is dependent on the presence of the Sonnet framework. What version of Sonnet do you have?

Hm... I am running Fedora (25) Scientific. According to the repo, the only sonnet framework I find is kf5-sonnet -- Which as it happens is not installed but kf5-sonnet-core is.

Can you try installing it? Do you get the functionality if so?
