Cant see attachements

Sat Jun 17, 2017 8:44 am
Hi all
I'm new to kde and haven't used linux since school 13 years ago. so bare with me.

I cant see any attachments old or new emails that are attached to my iCloud account with apple. i have set up thunderbird, evolution, and geary and they all see my attachments old and new and the port/server setting are all the same.

i have scoured every menu multiple times looking for the solution but to no avail. please help.

thanks

It would be helpful to know which distribution are you using, and the version of Kontact / KMail you are using (Help menu -> About KMail).

Interesting. Do you mean there aren't any attachments visible in the KMail message window? Did you try changing theme? (Under the View menu, header themes).

Well i solved my issue.
i opened up terminal and i removed kmail, kontact, and konversation, then rebooted. reinstalled through terminal and ran update and upgrade. which screwed my mouse all up. but now i see my attachemnts as far back as i can go. i dont know what the issue was before but i couldnt even click on a message and save attachemtns. they were just no where to be seen.

[SOLVED] Cant see attachements

Fri Jun 30, 2017 6:08 am
so i had to restore my computer (dont ever reset p-ram on macbook while running while in single boot of linux) then i tried the same process i went through with kmail of removing and reinstalling. But nothing happened. so i continued to set up kmail how i had it last time. and what actually made my attachments show up was changing "load external references" in the security tab. AND BOOM there they were.
