Hi folks,
I am running KDE4, installed over pkg, on FreeBSD system. Under Kmail upon first setup of a new IMAP mail address @icloud.com I accidently canceled the entry to unlock Kwallet, this is where the trouble started. Upon creation of the mail address I get the Error Could not read the password: user rejected wallet access. So I checked the KDE Wallet Manager > Settings > Configure Wallet > Access Control and the only thing listed as denied is Chromium Browser which I personally added in ~/.kde4/share/config/kwalletrc. Other than that no entries. A Board entry mentioned that a simple reset akonadictl would suffice after deleting the primary wallet and re-adding the password. Which sadly it didn't. Being quite frustrated with the issue and not finding the corresponding config file, I did the overkill and ran pkg delete kde, pkg autoremove and rm -rf ~/.kde4/ (system was brand new setup so whatever). After restart and reinstall over package management the issue still persists even though it was a completely new wallet. However Kmail still had the mail addresses and of course the error was still there. Any Ideas? Edit: Probably wrong board though. Sorry. |

[Solved]
After a little more testing of the issue, turns out it was a mail provider setting in iCloud security. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204397 Nevertheless to make the apps visible in access control, I had to set an empty pwd and enable to prompt for pwd each time the specific app wants to access the wallet. Hope this helps someone in the future. |
