How to Disable TSL[SOLVED]

Wed Sep 06, 2017 9:14 pm
Hi,
PC_linux 64bit KDE5(Plasma) fully updated.
New Install, I set up Kmail but if I try to send a Email I get :-
[MESSAGE]
Failed to transport message your SMTP server does not support TSL.
Disable TSL if you want to connect without encryption.
[END]
I can find no reference to TSL within Kmail so how do I disable TSL ?.

Any Help most welcome.

It looks like a typo and they mean TLS.

Go to Settings>Configure Kmail>Accounts.

Click the "Sending Tab", select the account you are sending with and click the "Modify" button.

In the dialogue that pops up click the "Advanced" tab and if the "TLS" is selected in the encryption row, change it to SSL and try sending your mail again.

Thanks for the reply,
Instructions followed and the TLS box unticked. so all good there.
Now the mail does not send, and stays in the outbox, its a problem, with the user name, but that's another issue.
