Hi all,
I have started using Kontact (KDE’s mail, calendar, addressbook, etc) again after a long time and at the moment I am loving it. I even found out how to make a backup of everything there is in Kontact. I use the program pimsettingexporter for that. It’s part of Kontact. In there I choose to backup everything, default setting, I choose the backup directory and a few minutes later I have a 3.5GB file with everything. What I want now is to automate that. The program has to start automatically, using the correct settings and store the result in the folder of my choosing. Once a day should be enough. When I have more than 7 files (7 days) in the backup folder the oldest can be thrown away, so I always have one week backup which is much more than what I have now. Also this last feature should be automated (if possible). How do I do that? Who can help me with that? At the moment I have this:
The program is started with the export window open. I still have to choose which export template I want to use. Well, I just want to use the default one wich includes everything. When I confirm my choice the export starts and does create a zip file with todays date as name. When done the program is not stopped yet, but I guess a simple kill will do the trick. (haven’t tried that yet). How to set the default template as the one to use? How to stop the program in a normal way (without having to use kill)? |

Nobody knows how to do this? That means I have to keep doing it manually. It works, as long as I don't forget to do it.
