Hello,
I recently updated from an old KDE4 based installation to a new KDE5 based (openSuSE Leap 42.3, with the extra KDE repositories for KDE 5.12). I have my own Mail-Server running (cyrus) on a root server and use different mail clients on different devices (kmail5 on desktop, alphaMail on my Android-Tablet and the Stock mail program on my Jolla-Phone (SailfishOS). When I read a mail on my tablet I expect that it is marked read on all other devices / mail clients as well. This is the case with alphaMail and SailfishOS-Mail and was the case with kmail4, but not with kmail5 (5.7.3). This is not what I expect from an IMAP account. I have set 'Share unread status with all users' in the folder properties of most (if not all ) mail folders. The only effect is that reading a mail in kmail5 marks this mail read in all other clients. But it works not the other way around. I have all folders on local subscription only. I checked it also with kmail5.5 on kubuntu in a virtual machine with the same result. Is this an intended behavior or a misconfiguration on my part or a bug? There is a second issue. If I have new mails in some folder (I run sieves scripts on the server) the count for unread mails in the folder list is most of the times (if not always) updated only if I click on the folder. Again not as I would expect. Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance R"udiger Goetz BTW: I updated by a clean install of openSuSE Leap 42.3 with a transfer of the User data afterwards. |
