Hello all.

I've just installed Kubuntu 18.04 (with lastest KMail in distro).

After starting the KMail, I found something strange.

I write HTML signature with image (manually in Identity), but when I add it to the body of New Message (either pressed button 'Append signature', or from template) , it is displayed as plain text (non-rich) without image. But if I manually starts write rich-text (with HTML-tags and so on) in New Message body - I see HTML normally.

If I press "Reply to sender" - quoted text shows as plain text and signature added as plain text too.

But I allow HTML render in "Prefer HTML to plain text" - and HTML body shows as it should.
Check and uncheck "reply using HTML if present" - does not affect.

Can you help me somehow? What I'm doing wrong?

Hello,

I have the same error on a KDE Neon fresh installed.

Could you do a bug report, please?

I remember vaguely, when I had trouble with HTML settings in KMail, I had to adjust preferences in Kontact (I use KMail within the Kontact application) AND in the standalone KMail application.

Maybe try to launch Kontact, edit your KMail preferences as you want and close Kontact. Then open KMail as standalone program and and repeat what you have done in Kontact's KMail module.

I have no idea if this has anything to do with your issue, but it won't hurt trying - good luck!
