Lost mails after database error

Fri Aug 24, 2018 8:36 pm
Hello,

I've been using Kmail for a long time with minor issues, but now I'm connecting from behind a very awful proxy(*) and kmail is giving me headaches. Some hours ago, I received 4 notifications about downloaded mails which couldn't be saved. One of the four entries at systemd journal says:

Code: Select all
akonadiserver[1807]: org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: DATABASE ERROR:
akonadiserver[1807]: org.kde.pim.akonadiserver:   Error code: "1205"
akonadiserver[1807]: org.kde.pim.akonadiserver:   DB error:  "Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction"
akonadiserver[1807]: org.kde.pim.akonadiserver:   Error text: "Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction QMYSQL3: Unable to execute statement"
akonadiserver[1807]: org.kde.pim.akonadiserver:   Query: "INSERT INTO PartTable (pimItemId, partTypeId, data, datasize, version) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?, ?)"
akonadiserver[1807]: org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Error during insertion into table "PartTable" "Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction QMYSQL3: Unable to execute statement"
akonadi_pop3_resource[2228]: org.kde.pim.pop3resource: ============== ERROR DURING POP3 SYNC ==========================
akonadi_pop3_resource[2228]: org.kde.pim.pop3resource: "No es posible guardar los correos descargados.\nFailed to insert part to database"

The other three look alike. Now, the folder linked to that account says there are 4 unread mails but I cannot find them. Since the folder has 24 mails, its very easy to check one by one. If I go to folder properties, it says there are 28 mails, with 4 unread.

So, the big question is, where are those mails? Its a POP account which doesn't keep a copy serverside, so I cannot check them via webmail.

If they are a lost cause, how can I reset that folder without losing the 24 mails.

(*) The proxy not only is slow, but also fails from time to time. Even if the POP account saves mails locally, it take ages to mark them "read" or delete them and I don't understand why.
