SmarterMail KDE integration

Mon Nov 12, 2018 10:31 pm
Hi all,

My hosting company uses Smarter Mail as mail provider and I kind of became a fan of the mail solution, especially after syncing the contacts and calendars with my phone using DavDroid app from FDroid (I'm planning on setting up my own instance of Smarter Mail and hopefully they'll release a linux version by then).

I am also a big fan of KDE and I'm currently running OpenSUSE Tumbleweed.
For the circle to be complete, I would like to sync emails, calendar, notes, to-dos, contacts between SmarterMail and Korganizer using the SmarterMail calDAV and cardDAV services (the Exchange services/sync is available only in the enterprise version).

How can I acomplish this? Or what needs to be developed? Where should I look for the Kolab account type implementation?

Thanks,
Simo

What all have you tried?

I would guess that the process for getting the calendar syncing with Korganizer would be: Right-click in the pane which lists the calendars and select Add Calendar. Select: DAV groupware resource. Follow the wizard to fill in the necessary account and server details.
Similar can be done using KAddressBook to get the contacts via CardDAV.
