Hi

I am running KDE Neon 5.14.5 and Kontact 5.10.1. I have two GMail accounts configured in Kontact including their associated calendars configured.

I want to create a new calendar event from an email, so I drag the mail from my inbox onto the Calendar icon on the left-hand side. According to this page (https://docs.kde.org/stable5/en/pim/kon ... -drop.html) I should get a new calendar event with the subject populated with the same subject from the email, but instead the event subject looks as follows:

"akonadi:?item=45620&type=message/rfc822&parent=55"

I also do not get any of the email body transferred into the event body, making the feature pretty useless overall.

Has anyone seen this before or know a fix or work-around? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Nick

Hi
This is on Neon Dev Stable and also on Neon User

A) I read the link that you posted. It also mentions that one could drag into popup notes.
B) I attempted to drag an e-mail from the e-mail pane into the Calendar icon and nothing happened.
C) I attempted to drag into the "calendar" folder and nothing happened.
D) I right clicked and copied it to the calendar folder and it DID INDEED APPEAR IN THE CALENDAR FOLDER.
However, it did NOT appear in the calendar.
E) I dragged an e-mail to the "to do" folder and it appeared in the to-do folder
F) AND it appeared on the appropriate day in the calendar.

HOWEVER, it only SHOWED the akonadai "number"...

akonadi:?item=151124&type=message/rfc822&parent=52

G) It did NOT display the message in any manner or form.
H) When the Adonadai number was clicked in the calendar it popped a box "describing the Akonadai number thing" but it DID NOT DISPLAY the message.

So.....for me....

H) Drag a message to the to do folder and it "makes a to do" in the to do folder.
I) the TO DO appears as the "Akonadai number thing" in the calendar but does not display the message.

J) The Akondai thing ALSO APPEARS in the SUMMARY PANE

What this particularly means I have no clue.

So...possibly you could file a bug report and reference this thread so that if a dev is actually working on it, she or he will have the information.

But....thanks for this thread, the whole idea is intriguing an I figured that at some time someone would attempt to put it into Kontact so i did not even know about the possibility.
