Hello all,
we using here Kontact in the version 5.10.1 on KDE Neon. Since a short time akonadi have some problem on us computers. If you click some Mail, Kontact wait forever to load the mail. If new mails are arrive the mailbox, nothing is happen in Kontact. The only way to fix it temporarly is to restart the akonadiserver. But there are a lot of errors, like this:
The profile was created new for two weeks. Some other profile that have similar issue are created a year ago. To fix it permanently you have to clear the whole local akonadi database. But I suspect that the mistake will probably come again. Where does the problem come from? Thanks a lot Best Regards |

I think there are a few similar issues being reported, such as "Akonadi timeout" and "KMail - Remove Duplicate Messages does not run". In my akonadi log, I've seen both your errors "No such file or directory" as well as "Multiple merge candidates, aborting". My KDE bug here https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406185 hasn't been looked at yet but I wound up just recreating the mail account in Kontact using generic IMAP instead of Kolab Groupware and so far the problem hasn't re-occurred.
Interesting note which may or may not be relevant, I had a Hotmail and Gmail account that both worked fine, but as soon as I'd start moving anything around in my KolabNow account, the entire Mail component of Kontact would freeze. Also interesting is if you look at the "Akonadi timeout" thread, all replies are only from users reporting their distro as "KDE Neon"... |

Hello afogl001,
and thanks for you answer. Yes Akonadi looks like a little pit complicated. You can probably just wait and drink tea. But looking forward, they will fix it What do you think? Would it work better with SQLight or Postgresql? |
