Hi, I want to export 3,5GB emails (currently stored in local kmail-folders on my harddisk) into mbox format, to test evolution and thunderbird with my emails. Several people report a successful migration: They created an mbox-folder in kmail and copied the required emails into this folder and export it. Thunderbird and evolution are reported to be able to read these mbox-emails. Can anybody tell me, how to create an mbox-folder in kmail ? I cannot find anything in kmail-menus nor in kmail handbook nor in kmail "help". Thanks for support.

Kmail uses for local foldes a maildir structure not mbox format. So i think, it is safe just to copy the maildir folder structure to other place and use it with other MUA's that also support maildir structure. You don't need a export tool.

Or do you really want to convert from maildir to mbox ?
