A happy, long-time KMail user.
Recently our IMAP server changed IP addresses a couple of times. In that process on the client side I deleted my e-mail settings and recreated a new account pointing to the new server. The e-mail is the same IMAP mail archive (folder structure) I've had for years, with the same Courier IMAP server software. KMail logs in, shows me all of my folders and sub-folders of e-mail which I can happily access -- all but Inbox. With the Inbox I cannot see any e-mail, old or new. Other IMAP e-mail clients (e.g. Claws) see the Inbox mail and read it just fine. * Strangely, KMail does not allow me to move a message from one of my sub-folders into the Inbox. * Sending an e-mail to that account (an e-mail that would go into its Inbox) displays nothing. But looking in the user's Maildir on the IMAP server does show the message in the "cur" subdirectory and the message "looks" normal. * Updating the Inbox from the KMail client (Ctrl-F5), of course, does nothing. Any ideas what the problem might be and/or how to diagnose/fix it? [*] Edit: Solved. Despite having deleted the account and recreating it several times before, this time it seems to have been a combination of killing the Akonadi mysql task/process (Kontact/KMail just restarts it when it is first run), and deleting/recreating the IMAP -- I believe that was the magic combination, but either way, the system is now functional. |
