I'm attempting to configure my gmail account in Kontact/Kmail. I have setup 2 step verification of my mail account and when I enetered my data, it set it to auto configure server data, entered my password and hit next, it asks me to choose IMAP or POP3, I choose IMAP and select Add Account, it then opens a dialog that let's me enter my Gmail address. I hit Next, enter my password, hit Next again, now I have to confirm the login on my cell phone and as I do this, the dialog box that asked for my credentials now shows a page saying: "Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app - This app has not been verified yet by Google in order to use Google Sign In."
How do I get past this and get KMail configured with my Gmail account correctly

Try with POP3 and check

There is an issue with KMail and Google ...
You can also check if this is a sollution for you.

Try with POP3 and check

For POP3 I get (accepting the auto config):
Unable to login to the server pop.gmail.com.
Login via SASL (PLAIN) failed. The server may not support PLAIN, or the password may be wrong.
The server said: "[AUTH] Application-specific password required: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833"
saying this, I don't want to use POP3 anyways, I just added this for a test, I need IMAP to work....
