I'm running KDE Plasma version 5.12.8 under Opensuse Leap 15.1. For some reason I'm unable to activate the spell checker in kmail.
In 'System settings/RegionalSettings/Language' the Prefered languages are set: American English - German.
In 'System settings/ReginalSettings/Spell Check' the default language is set to American English. However there is no other option for the language.
The automatic spell checking is checked.
Although 'American Englsih' is set as the default language all the labels in 'pavucontrol' are German. (They were English before I added German to the list of prefered languages - in second position!) So I'm not sure whether this behaviour is normal and to be expected or whether it is a bug.
I would appreciate any suggestions.
