Hi,

I've released a new version of ZombieTrackerGPS, version 0.96.

ZTGPS is a Linux+KDE native PIM application satisfying the same purpose as Garmin's "BaseCamp" software, which does not run on Linux.

ZTGPS provides sophisticated query and sorting capabilities for GPS tracks. This application is targeted at outdoor sports and recreation such as hiking, cycling, sailing, skiing, and others. I wrote it because Garmin's own software was the last thing tying me to a Windows VM, and it also didn't provide a number of capabilities I wanted in such a tool such as robust query facilities.

The Wiki link contains a Downloads section with binary .deb packages for Debian based distros.

ZTGPS is Qt based for KDE or LXQt desktops, but (I hope) should work in other desktops to the extent any Qt apps do. It will use the KDE settings (UI colors, etc) in that case.

Changes since the last major release:
  • New "View/Reload Visible Area" menu to refresh visible map areas from network sources.
  • Date comparisons in queries (such as "Begin_Date >= 01-Jan-2019") were broken, and now work.
  • Added some missing UI tooltips.
  • Fixed build warnings on g++ 9.2. It should compile with no errors or warnings on 9.2 now.
  • Secondary windows are now kept on top of the main window by default. This behavior is selectable via a tab-bar context menu on secondary windows: "Keep Window on Top".
  • Add running-oriented min/mile and min/km reciprocal speed units.
  • Allow tag-specific speed unit override. E.g, min/mile for running, and mi/hr for cycling.
  • Add tooltips to the Track Point pane showing data for each sample point.
  • New activity icons for parachutes.
  • New wheelchair and handcycle activity icons for disabled athletes.
  • New Misc icon category (earth, internet, hills, eco, etc) from FreeSVG.org, under CC license.
