[Solved] Kontact KMail no connection to GMX's SMTP

Hi everyone,

I installed KDE Neon 5.18 in place of an Ubuntu-Mate 18.04 :

KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.69.0
Qt Version: 5.14.1
Kernel Version: 5.3.0-46-generic
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 2 × Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU P8700 @ 2.53GHz
Memory: 3,8 Gio


And installed Kontact KMail Version 5.13.3 (19.12.3)
I configured the IMAP setting without issue but for the SMTP setting whatever the parameter used described here
Sorry my interface is in French:
Échec du transport de messages. Boîte aux lettres non disponible. Le serveur a indiqué : « Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable »


Does someone have an idea or some diagnoses ways for this issue ?

FYI, the IMAP and SMTP settings work well on my Android phone with K9mail and on my other Ubuntu-Mate 16.04 computer with Evolution.

Hm, strange that this occurs with SMTP and that IMAP works well for you. As I just posted in a different topic (viewtopic.php?f=215&t=165472):

Thanks, so I will wait for the PIM 5.14.0 with kde 20.04...
My Kontact terminal execution (start, try to send and close) :

Solved, I wait for this version of PIM
Version 5.14.0 (20.04.0)

Clean akanodi database and KMail configuration files, and then redo the setup for IMAP and SMTP and it works perfectly now...
