Hello to the forum,
after accidently deleting the folder "~/.local/share/local-mail", "KMail" now exits with a fatal error, saying "couldn't create collection trash, ressourceid: 20" and "Kontact" quits completely - even after restoring the deleted folder from the trash. I then tried to remove the whole Kontact suite by using "Synaptic", selecting the "remove completely" option for every package. I did the same for all libraries containing "KDE PIM" or "Kontact" in its name or comment. Then I deinstalled the "Akonadi" package using the same method, hoping that all packages related to the "Kontact" suite and "Akonadi" were deleted so that I can do a clean install. But after reinstalling the "Kontact" suite and "Akonadi", the error still occurs. Can somebody tell me what's going wrong? Which packeges/config files/folders do I have to delete to be able to do a clean install? By the way: After deleting the "Kontact" suite and "Akonadi" a second time as described above, there are still KOrganizer alarm notifications Regards from Germany |

~/.local/share/local-mail is where all your email is stored. Deleting it is actually much worse than deleting, say, ~/.local/share/akonadi. If you can get the first directory to the state before deletion through un-trashing it, I'd suggest a following course of action:
I hope this helps - good luck! |
