Hi,
I very recently switched to Kmail from thunderbird and I cannot send any email with my Gmail account and my Exchange server (Office 365) while being able to retrieve all emails normally (with my normal password). If I authorize less secure apps, I can send emails. So I went to activate the 2FA on my gmail account, supply the app password to Kmail, but I cannot retrieve and send emails in this configuration. Do you have any tips on making Kmail works properly? What are your configs for Gmail accounts? Sorry if this has been posted somewhere, but could not find anything related to this (only sending mails) Thanks! Hi there,
I just ran the same issue, try to make an app password in your gmail security panel (check "save smtp password" in KMail > Settings > Configure kmail > account > send > General) And set the authentification as PLAIN instead of XOAuth2 And don't forget to set the outgoing account in your gmail identity (settings > Configure kmail > account > identity) |
