Kmail Identities usage and privacy leak

Hello

I started using Kmail few days ago. I have an email address with a lot of aliases which I use often, very few people or entities know my real email address.

Kmail version is 5.14.2 on OpenSUSE 15.2

I created an IMAP configuration and identity with the main address and I added all the aliases to the main identity. Then, since I didn't manage to use the aliases in this way, I created a lot of secondary identities as copies of the main one, each with an alias as email address. In this way I could use the aliases, but there is the not so nice tendency of the client to switch to the main address. If I click reply I always have to remember to change the identity, it does not use the mail to field by default, a couple of times replying on hurry I sent by mistake the main identity.
Another time I started editing a new email, I immediately put the alias as the sender, but while I was editing for some reason it switched back to the main identity.
In this way I let someone know my real email address while I didn't want to. Is there a setting that prevents using by default the main email address or another way to set the aliases that makes use of the mail to field?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

I mitigated the problem by changing the default email to an alias, in this way if I forget to change the sender I won't send my real email address. But, as it is working now, it is error prone. Is it just a configuration problem or should I post a comment in the brainstorming forum to discuss a possible enhancement in the future?
