Setting up POP3 account in Kmail

Wed Dec 16, 2020 11:54 pm
I try to get KMail to set up pop3 accounts, but to no avail. I go to

Settings -> Configure KMail -> Accounts -> Receiving -> Add -> Custom Account -> POP3 E-Mail Server

and set it up with an account name "POP3 Web", incoming mail server, Username, Password etc.

Then I say ok, but in the "Configure" window it is only displayed as "POP3 Account" instead of the name "POP3 Web" that I gave the account.

When I try to "Check Mail", it says "Please enter the username and password for account 'POP3 Account'. You are asked here because the username you supplied is empty."

What is going on? How can I make it understand my seetings?

My System:

Operating System: Kubuntu 20.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.12.8
Kernel Version: 5.4.0-58-generic
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-3320M CPU @ 2.60GHz
Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM

I don't believe this... last night I got those issue. This morning everything works as indented. Seems like a reboot went a long way here...
