Hi,
I am using Protonmail as a personal mail account and also for business communication. This is my setup on protonmail: xyz.xyz@protonmail.com xyzxyz.xyzxyz@protonmail.com xyz.xzy@pm.me someotheremail@protonmail.com Those are all personal @protonmail addresses. They also come all into the same account and when sending mails from the website, I can choose, which email to use. Then there is also: info@buske-it.com info@buske-it.com.ve benjamin@buske-it.com Also, my @icloud.com address is forwarded to protonmail. The are also integrated into protonmail and arrive in the same account as the personal mail, albeit with with a tag saying BUSKE-IT. When I send a mail, I can choose between any of the personal or business addresses. I cannot select the @icloud address of course, because it is only forwarded and does not have any association with my Proton Account. So, my setup for Kontact / Kmail was as following: I added a single account for my main protonmail account. The same I use to log into protonmail from the website. This automatically created an account for it in the SEND tab as well. In addition, I created three different identities. One for xyz.xyz@protonmail.com to which I added all of my personal addresses as an alias. I also created an identity for anothermailaddress@protonmail.com since it is an address I use for gaming, etc. I then created a third identity named Buske IT with the info@buske-it.com address as main and the other to as an alias. Now, I can receive emails fine. It pulls proton mails from the account every 5 minutes or so, as it is supposed to. So I can see my business and personal mail in Kmail. I can also send messages. When I open the composer, I can enter my message and send it from my default address xyz.xyz@protonmail.com. I can also manually change the FROM address field to something like info@buske-it.com. The mail will be encrypted by Proton Bridge and will be sent out normally without any errors. However, there is no way to choose a different FROM address from like a drop down menu or something. Which is kinda not really a nice thing. I have tried to add a new account for my business. But that did not make any selection show up in the composer either. In addition, adding a new account for each of the email addresses mentioned above, doesn't make a lot of sense, since all mails essentially come into the same account and are sent from the same account. Just the address is different. So, how can I get this fixed? I checked the handbook and the help and according to it, identities and send mail addresses is what I should be looking at. But that's already configured. On a different topic: I also noticed, that my mails from kMail get sent just fine. However, they are always sent twice. I sent a test mail to my icloud account and I got the mail, but I got it twice. What would that be associated to? Thanks for the help! Cheers! Ben |
