Gmail and Akonadi

Sun Apr 11, 2021 7:08 pm
I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I cannot for the life of me get my Gmail account to work with KMail. I cannot get past the Akonadi Resources pop-up window after configuring my Gmail account. [Refer to images]

I am brand-new to KDE so I'm sure it's ignorance on my part. I am a MX Linux user for a couple of years using XFCE, but have now switched to MX Linux w/KDE.
I have searched the Internet and this forum but can't seem to get any of the solutions to work.

What I have done to date per the recommendations I have read:

Enabled "Less Secure Apps" on my Google Account
Enabled "2 Factor Authorization" on my Google Account
Generated an "App Password" to use for my Email account in KMAil
GMail Account settings are: IMAP Server = imap.gmail.com / Username = my Gmail email account xxx@gmail.com / Password = Google's generated App Password / Encryption - SSL/TLS / Port 993 / Authentication = Plain

Thanks for your time

RESOLVED - Gmail and Akonadi

Fri May 07, 2021 3:13 am
When the initial sign-in window appears, I copied the URL. Pasted that into Firefox and this allowed me to finish the process and set up my Google email accounts.
