Akonadi has 13GB mysql.err

Sat Feb 18, 2023 7:51 pm
Hi,

For a few days now I was wondering where about 1GB storage vanished per day. Today I looked around a bit and found
~/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/mysql.err
and
~/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/mysql.err.old
to take over 13GB of disk space.
If basically one message a gazillion times:
Code: Select all
2023-02-18 20:46:59 5 [ERROR] Incorrect definition of table mysql.column_stats: expected column 'hist_type' at position 9 to have type enum('SINGLE_PREC_HB','DOUBLE_PREC_HB','JSON_HB'), found type enum('SINGLE_PREC_HB','DOUBLE_PREC_HB').

I looked around a bit but could not find something that looked like a solution for this.
This is:
akonadictl 5.22.2 (22.12.2)
mariadb Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.11.2-MariaDB, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper

Might this be a more wide-spread issue and is there a way to fix this?

Cheers,
Frederik

After a bit more digging I found this command which stopped the mass-filling of the log for me:
Code: Select all
mariadb-upgrade --defaults-file=~/.local/share/akonadi/mysql.conf --socket=/run/user/$(id -u)/akonadi/mysql.socket
