I've problem with sending e-mail with big attachments.
Whenever I try I get:
Sending failed:
Writing to socket failed.
The message will stay in the 'outbox' folder until you either fix the problem (e.g. a broken address) or remove the message from the 'outbox' folder.
The following transport was used:

Help :)

I'm using KDE4 4.1.81

Have you checked that your email provider supports sending attachments of the size you are trying to send? Can you send small attachments without problem? Do other mail clients not have this issue?

I was able to send e-mail with attachments few days ago.
My suspicion is that this thing is somehow connected with the files copy(cut)/paste problem I've with Konqueror and Dolphin.

I've openSUSE 11.1RC1 and KDE 4 4.1.81, maybe someone has similar config and can confirm that behavior ??

And after creating new user and new e-mail account I still can not send binary attachments in e-mails.

Confirmed running yesterdays trunk. I would recommend sending a message to the kdepim mailing list ( kde-pim@kde.org ) so that the problem can be fixed. I would say this is a ship stopper bug.

sk8glad, could you also check if you can copy/cut & paste files between Konqueror's and Dolphin windows ?

I can, running KDE 4.2 trunk. Copy & Paste works fine, although Plasma's KJob integration didn't like it and crashed.

well I can't. Cut/Copy & Paste has been broken here for several days here, although I have no issue with plasma and kjob when I split my window in dolphin and copy from one-half window to the other.

Still no luck with the latest openSUSE revision (4.1.82).

But Cut&Paste in Dolphin and Konqueror is back.

It must have been fixed at some point between the 4.1.82 version bump and yesterday, because I updated to latest trunk yesterday and just successfully sent a 4.9 MB file to myself.

OK, after today's openSUSE update the whole system to 4.1.85 sending attachments is back.

Glad to have it working again.
