The first problem indicates that the Akonadi server process is unable to register itself to D-BUS. I found out that this error may occur when...

- some config file related issues exist (remove ~/.config/akonadi/* and reconfigure Akonadi using the system settings) or...

- Akonadi can't connect to your database; use akonadictl stop and akonadictl start at the console and look whether it spawns some helpful error messages.

Nevertheless, I didn't made it to get Akonadi working at all, despite of a correct external MySQL database and D-BUS configuration and a complete fresh KDE 4.2 installation. Wonder whether there should exist a MySQL socket file in ~/.local/share/akonadi/db_misc since akonaditray tells me he couldn't connect to the LOCAL database - and I just tried to backup a single VCF adressbook file, nothing more...

Since this is on a Kubuntu system, especially check this one:
http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi#Apparmor

Well, I for myself have to confess that I am quite new to this whole Akonadi thing. But perhaps, some ideas can't harm...

- does Akonadi create tables in your database? (well I don't think that this is a database issue, but...)

- do you have any resources set up in "System Settings" -> "Akonadi configuration" -> "Akonadi resources configuration" and do they work?

- what does the console output of akonadictl start tell?

The skipped tests suggest that the setup is not trying to use its own mysqld instance, but the socket path looks like a user local one.

Can you post a test log of a setup which is configure to use the internal server?

hi all,
im using debian 5.0 | 2.6.27.6 | KDE 4.2 SVN and i had same error messages
like in initial post.

I solved the problem by installing akonadi-server package.

hi
i have the same problems with akonadi using kde 4.2 SVN trunk.

how can i uninstall akonadi? i tried to uninstall it using "make uninstall" in build directory and src directory, but it says

makeobj[0]: Entering directory `/home/farhad/kde/build/kdesupport/akonadi'
make: *** No rule to make target `uninstall'. Stop.
makeobj[0]: Leaving directory `/home/farhad/kde/build/kdesupport/akonadi'

what's the problem with uninstalling ?
