I'm trying to compile Akonadi as part of kdesupport from trunk. It depends on the boost library. I have libboost_dev installed (version 1.34.1, from the Intrepid repository), but FindBoost.cmake fails to find it (specifically boost_program_options). I have cmake version 2.6 patch 2. All the boost related libraries in /usr/lib are in the form 'libboost___.' including program_options.

Code: Select all
CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-2.6/Modules/FindBoost.cmake:620 (message):
Unable to find the requested Boost libraries.

  Boost version: 1.34.1

  Boost include path: /usr/include

The following Boost libraries could not be found:

          boost_program_options

No Boost libraries were found.  You may need to set Boost_LIBRARYDIR to the
directory containing Boost libraries or BOOST_ROOT to the location of
  Boost.
Call Stack (most recent call first):
  akonadi/CMakeLists.txt:38 (find_package)

CMake Error at akonadi/CMakeLists.txt:40 (message):
Akonadi requires the Boost C++ libraries.

Is there something I'm missing?

Have you installed libboost-program-options-dev?

No, I hadn't. I was following the instructions on this page in techbase. Should this package be added to the list of required packages? Or is there a reason its not there?

Thank you!

Please add that package to that page, so others don't have the same problem, since the page is Ubuntu / Debian specific
