In Kontact on both of my computers (KDE 4.1.4):
Kontact crashes when you try to open 'configure Kontact'. Can't change default colors in calendar/Kontact. You can pick different colors and apply them, but they don't actually apply. Can't change day the week starts on (default is Monday, I like Sunday). Mike |

To set Sunday as starting day, open Kontact, goto Settings -> Configure Date & Time
In the KDE Control Module window, click "Time and Dates" tab and change "First week of day" to Sunday. Other problems seems like obvious bugs. Please report them at bugs.kde.org and post the link here. Btw, I'd recommend that you upgrade to KDE 4.2 as it has numerous bugfixes (I cannot reproduce the bugs you mentioned on KDE 4.2) |

OK I got it changed to Sunday.
The configure contact crash tells me there is no usable backtrace information. I will upgrade to 4.2 when it becomes available in the Fedora updates repo. Updating from a tarball sometimes causes problems. I can live with the color thing until then. Thanks, Mike |

I updated to KDE 4.2 on both my machines and no longer have the crash when trying to open configure contact.

If the colour problem is still present, please file a bug ( if it doesn't already exist ) at bugs.kde.org

The color problem was just me not realizing it works a little differently in KDE4 than in KDE3. Everything in Kontact is working now. Thanks for your help.

Given that your issues seem to be resolved, I have marked the thread as solved. If you wish to continue discussing this, feel free to unsolve it.
