Hi,
I've recently upgraded a Debian from etch to lenny, and at the same time, installed KDE4 (4.2) from debian-desktop repositories.

My problem is that I've lost:
- Konqueror's bookmarks and customized web shortcut
- Kmail's configured account(s), filters and mailboxes,
- Akregator feeds config.
- Adressbook contacts!!!!!

(- Furthermore, there is no menubar on top, but that's another song ;-) )

I've been googling a little but found no good information, can you please teach me how to upgrade my configs?

When using the backoprt packages, you have to copy .kde to .kde4 before starting KDE4 for the first time.

The real KDE 4.2 packages to enter Unstable at Lenny release will have (AFAIK) the same local prefix and thus enable KDE's upgrade path to work properly.

Cheers,

Move your .kde or .kde4 to another folder.

After relogin new .kde would be automatically generated with default settings.
Then manually copy this configs to your newly created folder:
~/.kde/share/apps/kmail
~/.kde/share/config/kmail*
and etc
