Hello
I like to use kontact with LDAP but all my approches failed. What have I done so far? I use a google apps acount and like to use my contacts from there in kontact. Since there is not direct way to do this I user the gcaldaemon to sync my calender and contacts to the local machine. Now gcaldeamon has the option to run as ldap server. The only thing to do (according to the docs I found) is to set the ldap servername to localhost and the adjust the port to the correct one. Well this seems to be not all. Was someone success full to use gcaldaemon with kontact? How could I best make sure that the ldapserver is running correctly? If it is running which parameters do I need for the connection for kontact to the ldap server? THanks a lot -bushveld

I think you need to set the fields for server and port and then click the "Query server" ("Serverabfrage") button. Cheers, _

Hello
I have downloaded the latest gcaldaemon the setup worked fine and the sync of my Calender is perfectly ok. Only LDAP still does not work: ERROR | Unable to load contact list! java.lang.Exception: Login failed (check username/password)! at org.gcaldaemon.core.GmailEntry.connectLDAP(GmailEntry.java:231) at org.gcaldaemon.core.GmailEntry.connect(GmailEntry.java:147) at org.gcaldaemon.core.GmailPool.borrow(GmailPool.java:98) at org.gcaldaemon.core.ldap.ContactLoader.loadContacts(ContactLoader.java:274) at org.gcaldaemon.core.ldap.ContactLoader.run(ContactLoader.java:220) I have used the config editor to set this all up so I would assume that the password is ok since it works for the calender.. On the other hand the error message seems to be fairly clear..... Do you have any idea what I can check or do? Thanks -bushveld

Maybe you can check with a different LDAP client to see whether it is something going wrong on the KDE LDAP Resource side or on the other side.

I am having the same problem. This used to work for me and then stopped. I have not been able to find any resources on the net to help correct the issue.
