akonadi and dbus.. problems

Thu Mar 12, 2009 2:05 pm
Hi,

running kde 4.2.65 now akonadi fails to start:

Code: Select all
Akonadi Server Self-Test Report

Test 1-3:  SUCCESS
--------

MySQL server is executable.
Details: MySQL server found: /usr/sbin/mysqld  Ver 5.0.76-debug-log for pc-linux-gnu on x86_64 (Gentoo Linux mysql-5.0.76)

Test 4:  ERROR
--------

MySQL server log contains errors.
Details: The MySQL server error log file '/home/bede/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/mysql.err' contains errors.

File content of '/home/bede/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/mysql.err':
InnoDB: Unable to lock ./ibdata1, error: 11
InnoDB: Check that you do not already have another mysqld process
InnoDB: using the same InnoDB data or log files.
090312 13:26:08  InnoDB: Retrying to lock the first data file

[... a lot of repeat ...]

InnoDB: Error in opening ./ibdata1

InnoDB: you should now edit innodb_data_file_path in my.cnf back
InnoDB: to what it was, and remove the new ibdata files InnoDB created
InnoDB: in this failed attempt. InnoDB only wrote those files full of
InnoDB: zeros, but did not yet use them in any way. But be careful: do not
InnoDB: remove old data files which contain your precious data!
090312 13:27:48 [ERROR] Default storage engine (InnoDB) is not available
090312 13:27:48 [ERROR] Aborting

090312 13:27:48 [Note] /usr/sbin/mysqld: Shutdown complete

Using akonadi-server 1.1.1 on Gentoo-box...

Any idea??

Seems mysql has problems opening its database files.

It hints that this could be a result of some other mysql process having them locked.

Check if you have some other mysqld instances running as this users and whether their command lines point to the same data files/directory.

Cheers,

Can you check whether you have more than one version of mysql (server and/or client library) installed?

Probably one from the distribution and one built from project's sources?

Cheers,

No, there's no other version than
Code: Select all
bede@jupp ~ $ mysql --version
mysql  Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.76, for pc-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline 5.1

Error report shows first error at step 9:
"Akonadi control process not registered at D-Bus."

Re: akonadi and dbus.. problems

Sun Aug 16, 2009 1:05 pm
That looks like a totally different problem.

Both check 8 and 9 succeed, which means initial start of the server succeeds.

The control process crashes later on, which is not the same thing as the server crashing in the MySQL access code the other people are experiencing.

Cheers,
