Hello all,
This is my first post to the KDE forums. I made the "plunge" to Ubuntu and left Windoze mostly in the dust about 6 months ago. I still use XP in Virtualbox for AutoCAD but that is basically it. I have "played around" with the Linux Desktop off and on over the last 10 years. I only give you this background information just to say that I am not entirely a newbie.

I use Ubuntu 8.10 and the Gnome Desktop (just my preference) but use Kontact as my perferred PIM. Last week I upgraded to Kontact 1.4.1 and love it, but the only option that seems to be missing is to ability to view a folder threaded. I prefer this method in most of my folders and store my message replies within the folders in question. Has the thread folder option been replaced by Mailing List?

Just looking for some dirrection.

Thanks in advance.

Which version of KDE are you using? This is possible in later versions of KMail ( which is the email client integrated into Kontact )

KDE 4.2

If folder threading has been removed with 4.2 then I would choose to remain with Kmail 1.3(KDE4.1). This is a feature that I use a lot and not having it really does decrease my productivity.

No, the system was simply improved. The old one had decayed, and was not portable outside KMail. This new view provides more sorting / arranging abilities. You simply need to create a new custom view.

Select folder > Select Aggregation Mode ( fourth icon across from "Search" where the list of messages is displayed ) > Current Activity, Threaded. You can disable the per month categories by selecting "Configure" from the same menu, Groups And Threading > Grouping > None.

WOW. Okay I see it now. That is impressive and extremely easy to configure. It gives you a lot more options. Thanks for your help.
