Hi,
openSUSE 11.1 KMail 1.11.2 KDE 4.2.2 release 111 I am having a problem where I cannot quit (or kill) KMail. As soon as I exit the program or kill it from the CLI, a new process is spawned. I have two accounts that I am using. One is a pop3 account, the other is a disconnected IMAP (Kolab) account. I have tried deleting both of my accounts and the same thing happens. I close KMail and it opens right back up. |

In KRunner ( Alt + F2 interface ), if you have the "Contacts" runner enabled, please disable it, since it communicates with KMail to perform its work, and likely automatically respawns it.

That did it, thank you! Completely forgot that I was playing around with KRunner before the weekend. Thanks again, Mike |

This worked for me once, but now I'm seeing the same behavior even w/ no krunner process running. Does krunner rely on a background process that may be respawning the kmail instance? To be clear I have disabled krunner searching on contacts as well.
I'm running KDE 4.2.2, kmail 1.11.2. Thanks! |

In case you haven't tried, log out after disabling the contact search for krunner. Even though I disabled it, it wasn't until I logged out and back in that Kmail worked as expected. |

Hi thanks for responding! I had actually tried that, in fact I've also completely restarted the machine as well - still same behavior. Since it seems to have something to do with accessing contacts and perhaps accessing IMAP contacts specifically, I also disabled nepomuk and it's associated krunner plugin - no difference. However, since krunner isn't even running now, I suspect it isn't krunner itself, but rather another process that krunner relies on that is restarting kmail. |
