Hi,
I'd like to sync my mails (without using imap), my bookmarks (konqueror + maybe firefox ?) , my calendar etc between several machines (my main desktop computer, my computer at work, my laptop). Is there an easy way to do that ? Can Kolab help me (I just know by name, but it seems a little overkill for this use case, is'nt it) ? Thank for any answer PS: thank to all KDE team for all this great work |

Kolab will handle both your mail and calendar, and maybe bookmarks. Otherwise you will need to copy files manually.
I believe there is a Google Calendar / Contacts Akonadi backend currently in KDE Review, but Kontact / KMail don't use Akonadi yet. I think support is being added to Akonadi to support Bookmarks also, which would open the way for easy synchronization.

Okay, I will take a more serious look at Kolab.
Copying the files manually could be a problem if there are differences in file formats between versions. Because all my computers use Kde 4, but sometime I upgrade one while I wait for an other to keep stability. Akonadi seems to be a great solution for the near future Thank you. |

Don't you need a full blown server setup for kolab? Let us know how you get on, Goffi
