Hi,

I'm in kontact (kdepim 4.2.2.1), kmail. I've adjusted my kmail toolbar to include the spam filter icon, click on apply but the icon does not appear.

I've tried removing ~/.kde4/share/config/kmailrc and kontactrc but they do not appear to have anything to do with what the toolbars display and what not.

Is there an exhaustive list of which files kdepim stuff uses and which does what? Failing that, does anybody know which file is not behaving in the above scenario?

Typical, I post something, then the solution comes :)

I simply deleted ~/.kde4/share/apps/kmail/kmail_part.rc

Kubuntu have changed KDE 4. Try ~/.kde instead of ~/.kde4

Actually, I have no .kde4 folder, just .kde
After searching deeper, I confirm that I have no kmail_part.rc file anywhere in this folder ..

Does editing it outside of Kontact ( ie. in KMail itself ) work?

Oh sorry, I didn't see it was KMail inside Kontact. Actually, I'm working with KMail standalone. I tried launching it inside Kontact, and it works here, but when I come back to KMail itself, the buttons disappear again ..

Hi, sorry I am soooo late in replying, but I am having trouble with email notification...

Try and make out all kmailrc files on your system ("sudo updatedb" followed by "locate kmail|grep rc") and take it from there :)

Thanks for you answer !
I found a kmail_part.rc file in /usr/share/kde4/apps/kmail/, deleted it, restarted KMail many times, reconfigured the toolbar, restarted my session, but the spam filter buttons are still missing :-(
Any other idea ? Maybe I should delete kmailrc too ?

@cyberwan: You may need to reconfigure the spam filter.

Ok, I just spent some minutes trying to reconfigure my filters, activate/deactivate some options, reconfigure the toolbar, ... But the filter buttons won't show :'(
Do you have a very specific sequence I should execute ?

Try erasing any *ui.rc files in $(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/apps/kmail

I had no file matching this pattern, so I took a look in this directory, and removed the kmmainwin.rc file, and it works now !! :-)
Actually, it created a new pseudo-button in my toolbar, different from the other buttons, which I can't find back if removed. It's a bit weird because I can't choose exactly which button is to be displayed in this dynamic bar, but anyway, that's much butter ;-)
Thanks for your help !
